Blog 3: Movies

Hello to everyone! Today i'm going to talk about the animated film The Tale of the Princess Kaguya. This beautiful japanese movie was directed by Isao Takahata, and produced by Studio Ghibli, so maybe you already know how hardly is that this could be a bad movie. Unlike other Studio Ghibli movies, The Tale of the Princess Kaguya have a animation less "neat".  Nonetheless, this element doesn't affect the experience of watching The Tale of The Princess Kaguya.

The story starts with a humble farmer that was searching bamboo in the woods. While he did that, he found something better than bamboo, it was a very small and shining girl. He believed that she was a gift by the gods, so he promised to take care of that little and beautiful person.

The old farmer took her towards his house, and showed the girl to his wife. When the woman farmer saw that little child immediately fell in love with her. Both farmers took care of the little girl and named her Kaguya. Kaguya started to grew up very fast and for that reason, the boys that lived around called her bamboo. The old famer didn't like that, actually, he didn't like the life that was given to his daughter. In consequence, he came back to Kagura's stem, which was full of gold. He bought a palace, many kimonos, among other stuff, only to make Kaguya a princess.

Kaguya had to leave her farmer's life and she didn't want to, her father never asked what did she prefer because he supposed that was the best life style for her. This is what i like about The Tale of the Princess Kaguya, the excelent reflection about how the actions, even when they have good intentions behind, can hurt to the other person.

Therefore, I highly recommend this movie, and for those who have Netflix, you can find it there.
